Found a big clue.We have a DNA match to the Henson line originating in Virginia. Our match is to Charles Henson b. abt 1732 who married Elizabeth McAlister. This line never went to Tennessee or Missouri. However, this Charles had a brother named James who married Catherine McAlister (sister to Elizabeth).Charles and James moved to Chatham County North Carolina.Documentation exists on the Charles line, but I am hitting brick walls with James.I still think the names of George, Rueben, Andrew and James, which are the first known children of our Samuel, are naming pattern "clues"....but I can't put it together.I think the Rueben definitely came from a maternal line somewhere. As you know, that name seems to have stuck in the Henson line and in my Stewart line as well. I'll keep searching.Hope this helps you a little. Also found that the name Henson and Hinson are used interchangeably in the records.
