Mary Mae Ottinger, 78, of Cedar Avenue, Greeneville,
Greene Co TN, died Monday morning, July 13, 2009, at her
home.
Mrs. Ottinger retired from Philips Consumer Electronics
Co. after a number of years of service.
She was a member of People's Tabernacle Church.
She was a loving and devoted Christian mother, grand-
mother, sister, and friend. She was selfless in her love
of both people and animals alike, her family stated. She
will be greatly missed by her family and friends and was
loved by her family and everyone who knew her.
Mrs. Ottinger was the widow of Berlin A. Ottinger, who
died October 21, 1998.
She was born October 15, 1930, a daughter of the late
Herman and Mary Hensley, and was also preceded in death by
four brother, Lonzo Hensley, Charlie Hensley, Curtis Hensley,
and an infant, Jackie Hensley.
Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry A.
Ottinger of the home, and Randell G. and Sally Ottinger of
Mosheim, TN; a daughter and son-in-law, Leann and Tom
Howard of Sevier Co TN; his grandchildren, Israel Ottinger,
Chase Ottinger, Kaylea Ottinger, Dustin Ottinger, John
Howard, and Jessica Howard; a great-grandchild, Hannah
Ottinger; a sister and brother-in-law, Alfreda and Gerald
Gangloff of IL; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and
Joyce Hensley of Bristol, VA, and Dale and Evelyn Hensley
of Greeneville, TN; several nieces and nephews; her
sisters-in-law, Florence Hensley, Louise Ottinger, and
Juanita Ottinger; a brother-in-law, Dale Ottinger; and a
special friend, Debbie Houston Ottinger.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 15 2000, at Kiser-Rose
Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow visitation at 8 p.m., in
the funeral home chapel. The Rev. Jeff Casteel and the
Rev. Tim Penley will officiate. Pallbearers will be Bill
Ottinger, Shawn Ottinger, Tony Ottinger, George McCamey,
Joe Hensley, and Tom Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be
the men of People's Tabernacle Church and the staff of
Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
A committal service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday
morning, July 16, 2009, in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
