Gladys Crawford Stallard, 87, TN, obituary; Broomer-Crawford
Gladys Stallard, 87, 880 South Mohawk Drive, Erwin, Unicoi
Co TN, died Monday, April 20, 2009, in the Center on Aging
and Health.
Mrs. Stallard was a Washington County native but lived
most of her life in Unicoi County.
She was a daughter of the late Jim Crawford and Ada Broomer
Crawford Hensley.
Mrs. Stallard retired from Morrell Electric in 1970. She
was a member of Riverview Baptist Church and the Clinchfield
Senior Adult Center.
Mrs. Stallard was preceded in death by her first husband,
Guy Clouse, in 1964; her second husband, Ted Edwards, in
1974; and her third husband, Palmer Stallard, in 1996; two
sons, Max Robert Crawford and J. W. Clouse; one brother,
Bill Crawford; and two sisters, Ida Mae Blankenship and
Goldean Tilson.
She is survived by five step-sons, Royce Clouse and wife
Deanna, Arden, NC, Norman Stallard and wife Norma, Ocoee,
FL, Larry Stallard and wife Vicky, Leesburg, FL, Roger
Stallard, Marietta, GA, and Artie Stallard, Jr., Ferndale,
FL; two sisters, Eula Kate Rice and husband Homer, Unicoi,
TN, and Juanita Rice, Alton, VA; five grandchildren,
Cynthia Waldrop and husband Ricky, Michael Clouse and wife
Amy, Jeffery Crawford, Jimmy Crawford, and Robert Crawford;
several step-grandchildren including Kimberly Campbell and
Jeff Clouse; and several nieces and nephews including
special niece Reta Crumley and husband Teddy.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:30 p.m.
until 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
The funeral service for Mrs. Stallard will be conducted
Wednesday, April 22, 2009, at 7 p.m. in the Robert Ledford
Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Todd McLaughlin
officiating. Special music will be provided by Sheila
Ruston and Inez Chandler.
The graveside committal service will be held Thursday,
April 23, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Moore Cemetery, Rice
Creek Community, Flag Pond. Pallbearers will be selected
from family and friends. Family, minister, pallbearers and
friends are requested to meet at the cemetery by 9:50 a.m.,
Thursday.
