personal thanks to Barb who came to Pa. from FL., letting me tag along to Perry historians,,, where this record was found... cut and paste... Following the logic above, I find it necessary to see if I can Match where our ancestor John Henry was born with the above families. We Know from John's war service record. In John's file it said he was born in Cresam Twp. Phila. Co. Pa.. After much searching, none could be found. I then wrote to the historical soc., which after two tries located the location. Kreigsheim Twp. Phila. Co. Pa.. Is Old Germantown Pa. John Henry researcher of clue #5 above, said the Henry genealogy goes as follows. Robert Henry of Ireland, then his son Nicolas who married Mitchel, then our ancestor John Henry born 1759 who married Zagmeister.... I have found a smoking gun in the will abstracts of phil. Co. Pa. on a will dated 1764, Nicolas Henry is listed as a witness, also the name Robert Henry is also listed as a witness. As well as Abraham Mitchell as executor and if that isn't enough to get you going, .... the will is for Germantown Pa. Several other wills, connect the Henry and the Mitchel family name, those being 1776,1761.. New material... I have been looking for years for the source of the statement of researcher John Henry, who was about 85 when I last talked to him. Where did he see a record that John Henry was the son of Nicolas Henry who moved into Henry valley. That record is found.... On page 236 of the history of cumberland co. pa. By rev. conway wing D.D. written 1879. Top right side of page, other German families now came in among them conrad wolf, and Nichalos Henry, both of whom had large families. John Henry, son Of Nicholas, crossed over the mountain to a little valley, which he took possession of and literally peopled with his descendants, so that it is usually called Henry’s valley. This isn’t proof, but it sure is a good clue pointing toward a real solid direction. And give that Edward Lay list Sophia Mitchel as John’s Mother, connect that with C below, this might just be the beginning of the wall crumbling. I have much more, but will post later after my visit to the court house... H Nicholas and Sophia Henry, were having children 1755-1771 clearly this is a strong candidate as he attended the same church, and was of child bearing age when John was born, that being 1759. This also matches clue #5 above in that remark about Nicolas Henry and son John Henry moved up over the Mountain into Perry co. Nicolas and Sophia Henrich are listed with other children Johan Jacob Henrich born Mar. 29-1755 in Phila. Co. Pa. And John Nicolas Henrich bp Apr. 25-1764, again Phila. Co. Pa.
