This record offers very positive evidence for the native origin (Irish-born) of John HENRY who died in Richmond, Virginia, in 1809. He's not in my family that I know of, but I found this record as I was looking for data on George HENRY of Clones parish, Co. Monaghan, Ireland (born abt. 1755-died 1833).

The will of "John HENRY" of Richmond, Virginia was filed in Armagh District, Ireland, in 1809. See indexed names of pre-1858 Prerogative Wills at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI), www.proni.gov.uk.

Prerogative Wills of Ireland
Description : Prerog Will Ext
Name: John Henry
Address : Richmond Va
Date: 1809
Proni Ref : T/808 p.7824

A reasonable assumption is that John Henry was a native of Ireland and his will bequeathed money and/or property to his relatives in Ireland, or (if he left all his property to U.S. residents) he probably named an Irish relative as executor.
