Hi John
Got your response. I think our Henry's may be related from Glencoe, Scotland from where they fled to Ireland.
According to the book I have there is a parish register in Campbelllton, Scotland that traces the family back for many hundred years. Of course this book was published in 1900 so I have no idea if records are still there.
One day I would love to go to Scotland & check this out.
The book I have also does not mention a signet ring
The eldest surviving son of Robert Henry(who came to America) went to Ireland to claim the fortunes of his Irish uncles-Samuel & William. He found "the vast estates of his uncles in the hands of some collateral heirs".
My guess is that the collateral heirs is our connection.
Charlotte
