I have researched this family for a friend. Have a fair amount of info on Philip Heninger and his descendants in Keokuk Co., Steady Run twnshp, Iowa, if anyone is interested. Would be interested in tracing backwards from Philip...censuses say he was b. VA, altho I didn't find him as head of household in the early censuses. There was a Henry Heninger, age 26-45 in the 1820 census of VA, Tazewell Co., and Philip named his firstborn son Henry... age-wise, Philip could fit into that household as a son. Didn't find Henry in the 1830 census, I did find some "Hanger" families 1830 in Augusta Co., VA, perhaps including a widow of Henry. Found Philip in Monroe Co., Missouri 1840, where several of his children were born. Per the Iowa County History for Keokuk Co., Philip Heninger was among the first settlers of the Co., moving there about 1846. I have census extracts, info from same County history, and some online cemetery records extracts for his family.

Appreciate hearing from anyone w/ info to share!
