Looking for info on Girard. The following are notes from my grandmother's telling of her grandfather:
Ladies' man
ran away with a lady and took quite a bit of money
Gertude Pipling hired a detective and heard that Gerard was seen in NY but lost the trail. Tried to find him for 7 years. Could never find him. He was considered a missing person in limbo.
Opened and ran the Metropolitan Ins. co.
He owned the Bootery in New Britain, CT and sold to his partner when he left
Hi wife was Gertrude Pipling and his daughters were Wilhelmenia and Jeanette. My grandmother was Wilhelmenia's daughter, Gertrude Barton.
My grandmother thinks he was born in 1871 in or near Saddle River, NJ
