Interesting.I was just searching a James W. Henning this afternoon but it was in Indiana and Chicago, not PA.My Henning family goes back to the mid-1700's in Lancaster Co. PA, then Dauphin, and Lebanon Co. PA.The earliest spelling that I've seen is the German Hoening (with an umlat over the "o").From there the family mainly used the spelling Henning but it was written many ways - Hinning, Hening, Hining, Hanning, and Heining (among others).Do you know the ethnicity of your Henning/Heining family?
