Hello again Thomas,

I would very much like to have an e-mailed copy of that picture as well. My God-Mother Betty is certain that she is part Cherokee, but I have been unable to find the proof. Now the Hagans come from Cherokee area in Florida, and there are Hagans who are listed as Indians, Chawtah I believe, and there are Gores, who are listed as Indians, but of a South West tribe if I remember correctly. She is descended from Hagans and Gores. Her Father was a Dunlap, his parents were Dunlap and O'Rourke, they moved to Louisiana from Arkansas. Her mother was Lizzie Mae Hennigan daughter of George M Hennigan and Ollie Lee Gore. George M. Gore was the son of George W Gore and Dollie Aselan Hagan, Ollie Lee Gore was the daughter of Asa Gore and Selenia Leanna (Slaydon we think). Asa Gore was the son of William G. Gore. His wife is a woman of controversy. It appears evident to me that she was as many believe Ellen/Elender Hennigan, daughter of Michael D. Hennigan and Amy Brumbelow. William G. Gore was her second husband, and her children with her first husband were living with them in 1850. However, others believe that she was Elender last name unknown full-blooded Cherokee woman. Do you have any light that you can shed on any of this?

Also, Betty tells me that Lillie Hennigan married another Hennigan, but I can't figure out who.

I hope to hear from you soon. Keep up the good work.

Cordially,

Susan Kielpinski
