My GG Grandfather was Patrick Hennigan, born 20 July 1845 to Thomas Henigan (hinigan) and Mary Sullivan of Dunmanway, Co Cork.
Patrick served in HM 1st Battalion 17th Foot Leicestershire Regiment. Her married Eliza McQuade (McQuaid) in South Dublin in October 1869 and they both moved with the Army to Lucknow, India.
Patrick Hennigan died in Lucknow on 31.8.1870 aged 25 years. Eliza Hennigan gave birth to a son 18 Feb 1871 married Michael Sweeney on 26th June 1871.
I am really keen to gain any further information on the Hennigan family, particulary of any other children born to Thomas Henigan and Mary Sullivan in Cork in the 1840's.
