I don't know about Indian blood in the Hennessee family as my grandmother never said anything about it. I do know that we are part Irish. I have a transcript of a speech that my Uncle Claud gave at one of our family reunions and he traced our family all the way back to Ireland. I don't know if this is the branch you are taking about but here is an exerpt from his speech.
"This family is of Irish descent, as our Great Great Great Grandfather was born in Ireland. William Patrick Hennessey came to North Carolina and was able to get free land as they were in process of developing a new county. He was born in 1735 and died in 1796. His son, Great Great Grandfather James H. Hennessee left N.C. and came to McMinneville, TN (Warren Co.). He acquired a great deal of land on the Collins River. Our Cousin Georgia Mead Moore still owns 285 acres of this same land. The Hennessee family cemetery is on this land. Jamesí son. Great Grandfather Patrick S. (Paddy) Hennessee was able to increase his acreage. It is said he owned some 2700 acres of land. James was born in 1765 and died about 1808. Patrick S. was born in 1796 and died in 1857. Patrick married Rachel Wilcher. We have her to thank for all the tombstones in Hennessee cemetery. She sued her father in court for enough of her inheritance to buy the stones. It was not customary in those days for a female in the family to receive an inheritance. James and his wife, Sally Wilcher, along with Patrick S. and wife, Rachel Wilcher, are buried in Hennessee Cemetery. Notice both married Wilchers.
Now we get to our Grandfather Archiebald Hugh Hennessee, a man of mystery to many of us. We only knew he was buried somewhere in McMinneville, TN Grampa was born in 1825? and died of pneumonia in 1887. He is buried in Hennessee Cemetery, although no marker. He was married twice. The first marriage was to Nancy Harrison in 1841, from this union there were 7 children. Nancy died and on Christmas day 1863 he married our Gramma Mary Hayes, she was 17 yrs. younger than he was and also a single lady. They also had 7 children. This solves the mystery of the relationship of Okla. Hennessee and Harrisons. We all had the same Grandfather but a different Grandmother,..."
My grandmother and all of her siblings are gone now so I can not ask them if they knew of an Eliza Jane in the family line.
