Yes, my grandmother is a Thaxton. Here is what I have as a direct line.
**James David Hennessee born Abt. 1766 in Burke, NC and Died March 3, 1851 in Warren County, TN, Parents ?, 2nd wife - Jane McGee, daughter of John Alexander McGee and Ester Clendennen, born May 28, 1797 in TN. and died abt. 1857 in Warren County, TN. They had a daughter named Eliza Jane born July 29, 1838 in Warren County, TN. and died March 9, 1880 in Grundy County, TN. She married John Benjamin "Ben" Thaxton on August 3, 1858. They had a son, Dillad Winston Thaxton born Nov. 25, 1870 in Viola, TN. and died Jan. 2, 1958 in Town Creek, AL. His 2nd wife Nancy Summers, was the daughter of Thomas and Josephine Victoria Moore Summers. She was born ? and died Feb. 18, 1928 in Ashland City, TN. Their daughter, Mary Elizabeth Thaxton married Ruse Anthony Tucker of Ashland City, TN. and they had 8 children. My Mom, Ruthe Kay Tucker, who was child #7, married Dale Philpott and had five children. I, Gretchen Philpott McDonald, am the oldest. My Grandparents are still living. Here it is in a nutshell. :) I can give you more info. if you need it, just let me know. I hate to see that there is no Indian blood. My Grandmother told me that her Grandmother was 1/2 Indian.
