Hello, Harris...

Who is your cousin seeking information on his Henley ancestors? Could be I may "know" him.

In answer to your questions, John Baxter Henley and his wife, Mary, were living in Harris County, GA and appear on the 1860 Census. After that there is no further records that I have been able to find. I made a trip to Harris County about 8 years ago... it is very rural. There are some records about 3 of J. B. and Mary Henley's daughters marrying in GA...The daughter you mention as living between Atlanta and Birmingham is more than likely their daughter Mary who married James Napoleon Whitten...a brother to Coleman Carlyle Whitten who married Mary's sister Caroline. James Napolean and Mary Henley Whitten lived in Talladega, AL where they raised a family...some of their Whitten descendants are still in the Talladega area and hold an annual Whitten Reunion.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
