Hi,
I am seeking the family of William Henegar, b. ~1814, VA.He married Eliza Ashley in 18147, Smyth Co., VA.
I and Amy, have a relationship to Eliza Ashley.Amy's ancestor is Luthena Ashley, sister of Eliza Ashley.
My relation is via Eliza Ashley, we BELIEVE that Eliza Ashely is the sister to John Ashley, b. 1826, NC but as yet have not found proof. John Ashley is my GG Grandfather.
Now William Henegar is such a mystery!! There are two William Henegar's who [as far I as find thus far] that can't be accounted for after 1860.There is William Henegar, b. ~1812, VA in Tazewell Co., VA married to a Barbara with children. There is William Henegar, b. ~1814, VA married to Eliza Ashley.
Do you know either or both of these William's.
We found a William Ashley who died at Camp Chase Ohio Prison.William joined the Reserves at Abingdon, Washington Co., VA.William was in Smyth Co., VA for the 1860 Census but his family was in the 1870 Washington Co.VA Census.I don't know when the family moved to Washington Co., VA. I think that this William b.~ 1814, VA is the William who died at Camp Chase [not William Henegar b. ~1812, VA of Tazewell Co., VA] but I would like to either have really good documents or at least be able to place all the other Williams - in order to eliminate them from being able to be the William who died at Camp Chase.Too many Williams - I am sorry for being so confusing.
Thank you,
Pattie
