My wife’s great great-grandfather was John Henry. I’m providing the following information so that you may compare it with your known family information (since Henry was sometimes spelled Hendry). John Henry was born 19 Aug. 1830 in Kirkintilloch and married Elizabeth Anderson Alexander born 1833 in Glasgow. They had 13 children: Elizabeth Anderson Alexander Henry, 8 May 1853 in Kirkintilloch Helen Henry born 1854 in Kirkintilloch Agnes Henry born 29 Oct. 1856 in Kirkintilloch John Henry born 21 Dec. 1858 in Kirkintilloch (went to America in Oct. 1879) *Jane Henry born 29 Oct. 1860 in Kirkintilloch *Anne Henry born 25 Nov. 1862 in Govan, Lanark (Glasgow?) Matthew Henry born 16 Oct. 1864 in Govan, Lanark *Mary Henry born 8 Feb. 1866 in Barony, Lanark (Maryhill?) *James Henry born 28 July 1868 in Barony, Lanark (Maryhill?) William Henry born 1 Jan. 1870 in Barony, Lanark *Robert Henry born 4 Apr. 1871 in Bridgeton, Glasgow William Alexander Henry born 16 Mar. 1874 in Bridgeton, Glasgow *Archibald Henry born about 1876 in Glasgow * Shows Children listed in the 1881 Census. Cities in parenthesis are shown in that Census. I suspect that children such as Matthew, William and William Alexander who are not listed on that Census may have died in their youth. Does this match what you know? I have additional information about the father John Henry born in Kirkintilloch in 1830 (if you think there may be a possible relationship). I realize that these are very common Scottish given names but there may be a match up. Regards, Karl M. Roth Notify Administrator about this message?
