Hello -
The only information I have on him was from an obituary:
James Hendry, 78 years old, a pioneer settler of this county died this morning at 5:15 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. M. Daykin, ten miles north of the city. He came to Oklahoma when the Cherokee Strip was opened and staked a claim north of Enid. He was born in Scotland, coming to the United States in 1865. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Daykin, with whom he made his home, Mrs. Nettie [sic] Beavers of near Enid, and two sons, W. H. Hendry of El Centro, Calif., and James Hendry of Wichita, Kansas, a sister, Mrs. Jane Armond, 2102 East Randolph Street, and a sister in California. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 O'clock at the Rader-Walker parlors, with Rev. D. L. Edwards in charge. Burial will be made in the Enid Cemetery beside his wife who died 20 years ago.

My husband's grandfather is the youngest son listed James Hendry of Wichita KS. No other data. Would be interested in any infor you have on the Hendry family as I do not have much. Thanks!
