Christopher Charles Hendry (book binder) born 1841 in Mile End Old Town (MEOT)/Shoreditch area was a widower then married in 1870 Elizabeth Louisa Paul b. 1849 in Islington. Not sure if Christopher had a brother called William J Hendry b. 1843 in Shoreditch, who then had a son called William Charles Hendry b. 1867 in Bethnal Green. Did Christopher also had brothers called Alfred and Henry Hendry. If any one knows please get in touch. However, Christopher and Elizabeth Hendry had 8 children all born in MEOT:
1) Rosetta b. 1872 - do not know if married - died age 34 years.
2) Christopher William (furniture maker - my great granfather) b. 1874 married in 1903 Martha Louisa Hockey b. 1873. He died 1919. Children were Dorothy; Lillian; Amy; Gladys and Edith.
3) Albert Edward (cabinet maker) b. 1876 know that he married but to whom and when?
4) Amy Isabella b. 1878 married a Lane in 1912 - ? first name and where from?
5) Arthur Charles b. 1881 died age 2.
6) William Robert b. 1884 married in 1914 Esther Sarah Catchpole b. 1887.
7) Alice Maude or Maude Alice b. 1887 married in 1915 George Alfred Halls b. 1882.
8)Ernest James Hendry b. 1889 married in 1918 to Amelia Payne b. 1894 in Islington.
