As for Finish naming patterns and customs, the Finns are not like the other Scand. countries, so you will not find the Hendrickson or Hendrickdatter there. only within Parish records will they use the fathers first name with son or daughter after, IF there is more that one child baptized with that name, so they can tell who is who.
You are correct with the changing of names by where they moved etc.
Your Heikki is actually the Swedish Spelling of Henrich, most early parish records are all in Swedish so that is why the spelling.
I have found that my husbands surname Hendrickson was actually HENTTU, they came from the island of Hailuoto, west of Oulu.
Henttu --> Heikki-->Henrich.
There are some Henttu who kept their original surnames, they are/were located in Oregon.
My family is from the Brainerd MN area.
If I had not learned this about Finland and naming I would not have been able to trace this line back to 1650.The Finns are excellent at records.
Enjoy
PS I by no means am an expert at Finnish Genealogy, I learned this in the last year.
