Mattie Katherine Hendrickson Piper b1888
While cleaning the basement of my parents’ house for its coming sale, I found a newspaper clipping – an obituary notice. As the most recent occupants (1966-2001), it is unlikely my parents knew this individual or the family. The previous owner of the house, which was built in 1926, was William Gardiner, a retired Chicago public school teacher and principal who was in his 80’s when he sold the house in 1966.Peotone is in Will County, IL.
The following is an exact transcript of the clipping, including misspellings (Eldarado, possibly daughter Evalyon), typos (8pm in the morning) and both the odd placement and omission of periods.I would be happy to mail this clipping to a descendant, or to send a digital image to anyone else.
