Suzanne:
Thanks for the feedback. My g-Aunt Cherry left an oral history and I can share the small bit I know.Your grandfather Felix is buried in the Cove Creek Cemetery, not far from Urich Missouri. Our family helped to found the church there.I did confirm the burial place of William Hendrickson in a cemetary recording book of Roly.He is buried there.I live in Florida and hope to spend some time in KY this year on a family finding mission. Most of my ancestors, the Staytons, Beltons, Hendricksons, Wethingtons,Speaks, all were living around Roly at the same time. Since it seems we have the same ancestory I'll be glad to share what I find. G-Uncle Urban Green Hendrickson fought in the civil war.The Hendrickson's were Democrats.G-grandmother Betsey Wethington was Catholic but none of her children took her faith.
I have a quote from Eunice Hendrickson, a grand-daughter of Felix Cromwell Hendrickson. " Felix Hendrickson, a wife and children went in a covered wagon from Kentucky to Kansas.A young baby daughter died on this trip and was buried at Marshfield, Missouri.I have heard my father tell this.Grandpa's first wife was a consecrated woman. On Sundays she would take her children in a spring wagon and drive about six miles to the nearest church."
One source of information told my Aunt Cherry the Hendricksons came to the US from Copenhagen, Denmark.
Felix C. Hendrickson, my g-grandmother's brother went to Kansas in the 1870's and then to Missouri.
Not much, but these are memories of family members who wrote to great-aunt Cherry when she was doing my family history.Unfortunately the internet wasn't around in the 60's when she was compiling information.
If I find more I'll let you know.If you want to contact me directly, I am at [email protected].
