My great-great-grandfather was John Henrics who settled in Charleston. I understand that he came to this country in 1860 from Bremerhaven, Germany. I know he was married in Germany to a Caroline Wedimeyer (sp.) She died and he married my great-great-grandmother, Bertha Sievern, another German. I haven't been able to connect him with anyone. I am wondering if it's possible that the spelling of the last name may have changed when he came over. Any ideas or information would be appreciated.
