Wm Hendrick 1798 KY, m Mary H ? 1800 VA, Help!!!!
We are looking for information on William and Mary H Hendrick, KY 1798/VA 1800. Nothing to base it on, but we believe it's the Barren/Warren County area we're dealing with, but this could definitely be incorrect.

In some papers I got from Debbie Rowe, there's a typewritten sheet of bond listings from the Orphan's Court Records, Marion Co, Miss. The listing says:
"Bond: Thomas Ponder & William Hendricks are bound for $800.00. Dated Sept 14, 1830. Thomas Ponder is guardian of Alice Crofford, minor heir of William Crofford."(the name was probably "Crawford" since census records show William lived very close to the Crawfords)

William died in April, 1860, at age 62 in Natchitoches Parish, of bronchitis. His occupation was listed as farmer. Jackson's book also says William's birthplace was "MS", which is believed to be incorrect.
Note: The date April 1 is NOT correct. It was in April, but not necessarily on the 1st. I put that there so the database would sort things chronologically.

In the book "The Natchitoches Genealogist" on page 21, entitled "Names Found in The Natchitoches Chronical, 16 June 1860, there is a listing for "William Hendricks". This could be William or William Henry. It doesn't say what was said about him, just that he was mentioned. This is after William's death, which was in April of 1860, 2 months prior.
The Natchitoches Genealogist.
Mary shows up in the 1860 Natchitoches Parish Census, living beside Hezekiah and William Henry. It says she is 63, Female, born in Virginia, with real estate valued at $8333 and personal property valued at $2500. William was not in this census, so it apparently was taken after William had died in April 1860.
Mary died before Dec 24, 1861.
Natchitoches Parish Probate Records.
Mary H Hendrick
In a document (No 1213) filed in Natchitoches Parish, Dec. 24, 1861, James Daniel requests an Inventory of the estate of his mother Mary, who he refers to as "deceased", so Mary died before Dec 24, 1861, but after the Census in 1860, because she appeared on it, living beside Hezekiah and William Henry.
Natchitoches Parish Probate Court records.
On Dec 10, 1863, William Henry, James Daniel, acting for themselves, and Hezekiah acting for himself and as attorney in fact for Marion, divided William & Mary's 355 acre estate into four lots and drew numbers out of a hat to determine who got which lot. Mary's negro woman slave, Juneau, was ordered to be sold and the money devided between the four boys, except William Henry, Hezekiah acting as himself, and Hezekiah acting for Marion signed over their interest to James Daniel. The document referred to Mary as being deceased, so she died before Dec 10, 1863.
In the probate of Mary Hendrick, it shows that there was three slaves owned by Mary at the time of her death. Ben, about age 44, leased out for $170 for a year, valued at $800, Juno, a negro woman about 45, leased out for $100 for a year, valued at $500, and Elsey, about age 14, leased out for $66.30 for a year, valued at $650. The probate also verfies that Mary died before Dec 24, 1861.
In James Daniel Hendricks' will, he gives John Newton Hendricks the "SW 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Sec 12 Twn Rng containing 39.71 ???? acres bought of H Hendricks 15th March, 1864 also lots 1, 2, and 3 of the partition between the heirs of William and Mary Hendricks made 16th of February, 1864 before William Payne, Recorder. Burkett (????) on 29 August, 1874 with all the buildings and improvements thereon. All of said land being in the parish of Natchitoches." Will dated "13th Nov, 1888.

All four of the boys moved to Natchitoches Parish, La. All four of them served in the Confederate Army, with most of them enlisting in the Pearl River region of Mississippi.
