Donna,
Jane Hendricks married Winslow Smith Pierce, my second great-grandfather, before 1848.He was a close political associate and friend of Hendricks's brother, Thomas Andrew Hendricks, Indiana politician who later served as Grover Cleveland's vice president. After Jane Hendricks (I always assumed after she died), Pierce married her and Thomas's sister, Mary, and had four children: Henry Douglas (1848-1929), Helen (b. aft. 1857), Mary (b. aft. 1857), and Winslow Shelby (Oct 23, 1857-July 23, 1938).Winslow married Grace Williams of Baltimore, and they settled in Dublin, New Hampshire and had four children, including Winslow Shelby Jr., my grandfather. I'd be happy to provide the other information I have on the Hendrickses and would be grateful for what you have, especially information about John's origins.
Best,
Rob Forbes
