The information I have was given to me by Goerge Newton. His ancestors married Taylors, but he only gave me info pertaining to Newtons. He has since died and I don't know what happened to his extensive research.
There was an Edmund Taylor on the Lunenburg Co. Va list of Tithablesfor 1764 and also, a William Taylor with 2 tithables listed. After that Mecklenburg was formed from Lunenburg County.
Polly Taylor was born JUNE 11. 1802 AND MARRIED HAILEY NEWTON jAN. 28, 1830 IN Warren County, N.C. His first wife was Jane Taylor Mar. 1, 1819 in Brunswick Co. Va. which adjoins Mecklenburg. Warren also adjoins. The Newtons lived around Eastern section of mecklenburg county below the Roanoke River. A dam has been built there and the Keiths Branch area where they lived is a lot under water. Hendricks also lived there.
Jane Taylor died Sept. 25, 1829. Polly Taylor was born June 11, 1802 and died Feb. 5, 1855. I have their children if you are interested.
Joseph Newton born by 1805 and died in 1841 in Granville Co.,N.C. married Lucy Taylor Dec. 21, 1826 in Warren Co., N.C. I'll have to see what else I have, mainly deeds.
