Hendon Family Genealogy Forum
That is good solid information. Thank you so much. I will keep searching but as you know the information is often scanty without actually digging in courthouse records, at various sites, where the information hasn't been published and is often stored in stacks of boxes in the basement; or worse, at an off site location, requiring court house personnel to accompany you to that site. Bravo for what you did and found and thanks for sharing. You have also given me and others clues for further research in the 1870-1880 timeframe. If I find anything more, I will be happy to share. I am thinking that if JOHN R. HENDON and MARY McCOLLUM died before their children were adults, then guardians might have been appointed. If they owned land, then there might be deed transfers, etc.
