The following obit appeared in The Hamilton Spectator (Hamilton, ON, Canada) on Monday, August 22, 1988.
HENDERSHOT, Emily Jane - Passed away on Saturday, August 20, 1988, at the Albright Manor, Beamsville, in her 88th year. Beloved sister of Lillian Newman of Walkerton and Gladys Leggate of St. Catharines. Beloved sister-in-law of Blanche Hendershot of Hamilton. Beloved aunt of Gloria Ellis, Helen Morris, Dorothy Ball, Barbara Tervit, Marilyn McDonald, Betty Gill, Donald Douglas, William and Richard Newman and Robert Hendershot and Robert Leggate. Miss Hendershot was a Charter Member of Melrose United Church and charter member and past President of the Ontario Medical Secretaries, Hamilton Chapter and a member of the Hamilton Business and Professional Women's Club. Friends may call at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral Home, MAIN STREET CHAPEL (at Bay). Visiting Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service in the Chapel Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Interment Hamilton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
