I am searching for the parents of Delia Hempstead. She was born in New York in 1886 in either Queens or Brooklyn or Long Island. Her siblings were: Bartley, Margie, Anne and Joseph. Those are the only names I have. The family moved to PA and lived in Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh). Her father died at a young age. His name may have been Harry or Joseph. Her mother remarried and her last name was something like Dydee. Delia married Walter Wylie in Pittsbugh in (approx)1901 and they lived in the Lawrenceville or Bloomfield section of Pittsburgh. Her children were: Walter, Harry, Margaret (died at 2 yrs of age), Florene, Bartley and Marcella. The family moved north of Pittsburgh to Hampton Township (also known as Sample) in about 1915. She died in Hampton Township in 1941.
Her mother came from Ireland. I do not have her name. Family members remember several different names: Mary, Bedelia, or Bridget. Her last name is believed to have been Earley.
