I have some information on this William's children. The family ended up in Bastrop County, TX and were some of the first settlers in the area intermarrying with other first settlers. The area they lived at is called Hemphill Bend off of County Road 969 about 5 miles north of Hwy 71. A lot of the Hemphills are buried at Fairview Cemetery in Bastrop or in the Hemphill Cemetery on the old Hemphill place. There are also some at the Bateman Cemetery. I'm from John L Hemphill's line which should be the brother to William. Some of John's decendents also ended up in this area. Napoleon Bonaparte (Pole) Hemphill was my ggfather.
