Thanks for your reply. Does any of your Hemphill line contain any info about the MOODY's? They are the line I am the most interested in. A branch in particular is that of a John MOODY who had a son William MOODY b.1791 who came to Philadelphia, PA in 1816 with his half-brother Robert (same father different mother). This John MOODY supposedly owned a bleach green in Newtown Limavady and the Hemphill's may have been related to this line. We know we have a ydna link to some of the Moody's of Newtown-Limavady and Newton/Newtown-Stewart, Nor. Ireland, but I am particularly interested in this John MOODY branch who took as his 2nd wife an Elinor (Parkinson) Kennedy the widow of a William Kennedy. It was with Elinor that John Moody had the son Robert Moody. William and Robert MOODY lived with an un-named Aunt and Uncle in "Philly" when they first came to America but they later moved to Pittsburgh for work and they started an Academy, called Moody's Academy. Robert died while still in his 20's and on a journey north up the Ohio River. William Moody and his family became quite successful in PA and other places. I'm just wondering if your Hemphill's might be related to this particular line of Moody's. There are loads of other Surnames that may link these lines together, but I am having difficulties with the Earliest of these families coming out of Nor. Ireland. Thank you for anything you might be willing to share. Notify Administrator about this message?
