I am seeking information on R.B. (Robert Benjamin?) Hemphill of Lawrence Co., MS. He is said to be buried in the Allen Cemetery south of Monticello, where his wife, Frances E. Hemphill is buried. I am hoping to place a Veterans marker beside hers for Mr. Hemphill as he served in the Confederate Army and the U.S. Congress made these markers available for these former soldiers back in the 1930s. He was born about 1836 in Alabama, and died after July 1916 (last pension application information). It would be great to contact one of his direct relatives.
