Hello David,
My names is James O'Sullivan.
ThomasHempenstall and Margaret Campbell are in my family tree
Thomas was born in 1860 in Maryborough
His father was Thomas George Hempenstall from Red Cross Co. Wicklow
His mother was Susan Tyrell
Thomas married Margaret Campbell at Carisbrook in 1881 [4664].
Margaret Campbell was born in 1859.
Her father was John Campbell.
Her mother was Margaret McIntosh.
The following information came from V.P.R.S. 7310 Assisted Immigrants to Australia
Book 5 pp 178-183, and is as yet undocumented. (not likely but curious)
Margaret Campbell was on board the ship "Statesman" as a young 4 year old travelling with her older brother Angus (8 yrs.) and younger sister Janet (1yr.) and parents John and Anne Campbell.
John, a shepherd (33yrs.) and Anne were from Inverary, Argyleshire.
They were Presbyterian, were in the possession of a Bible and both could read and write..
(George Hempenstall was also on board.)
The children however acording to my records were
Margaret C born in 1882[10139]
She worked as a publican at the Albion Hotel at Alan's Flat in 1902.
She married George Andrew Dolphin in New South Wales in 1905. [Reg 372]
Maria Ethel born in 1888 at Tallangatta [33833]
Anne Georgina born (?) at Tallangatta [14950]
Thomas died in 1925 aged 65. [15746]
Margaret died at Yackandandah in 1922 aged 63. [7450]
I hope this helps you David.
