Hempenstall is in my grandson's tree on his maternal side. Don't have much but maybe a direction for you. Have James Wilson marrying Elizabeth Hempenstall c. 1800. This family seems to be concentrated in Doe Hill/ Highland, VA, Think that another of his ancestors William BLAGG may have had a second wife--Jemimah Hempenstall (c. 1785)
