I was born in Maine and all of my ancestors were of settlements in New England states. I now reside in Florida.
Barbara (McCullock) Hemmings was born Sept 1842 in Clackmannanshire, Scotland and died 30 Sept 1889 in South Portland, Cumberland, Maine. So she would've been 47 years when she died.
William Hemmings was born April 1840 in Warwickshire, England and arrived 1869. In the 1880 census he resided in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, Maine with his wife Barbara and his father John. In the June 1900 census he resided in South Portland, Cumberland, Maine widowed with his daughters Emma and Lizzie. All of the Hemmings girls were born in Maine. Do you have who Emma married as Mr. Wilson and when she died and where? Emma was born Nov 1874. What about info on Katie? I don't have where she was born, who she married and when/where she died. She was born Oct 1883. Their sisters Evelina was born Nov 1874 and Lizzie was born June 1879.
I'm clueless about John Hemmings being brought over to be a bridge engineer or if he went to Eaton College. Do you know who John's wife was?
Do you live in the New England region?
Lisha
