I've just come across this old thread & have information that I think fits yiour query, if you still need it.
Alfred Carver Hemingway was born on 4/11/1850, the son of James Hemingway & Martha Ann Carver of Oriental House, Quaker Lane, Liversedge (in West Yorkshire & about 1 mile from Cleckheaton). He served his apprenticeship as an engineer with George Carver of Cleckheaton (his grandfather) and became a successful machine maker (probably some sort of textile machinery). He had business interests in the USA (I have his address on a Will Probate as Lyn, Massachusetts at the time of James's death in 1889. He retired and returned to settle back in Cleckheaton about 1916 although he still retained business interests in the USA. His father, James Hemingway was my 2X Great Grandfather so Alfred was my first cousin 3X removed. He was married twice, firstly to Fanny Sophia Lewis on 30th Sept 1874 and secondly to Amanda Sugden on 9th Feb 1916. I have a family tree showing his line of my family if you are interested. I would love to see copies of some of his documents in your possession.
I think the burial receipt will refer to Rodah Hemingway , who was Alfreds aunt (James's sister) born in 1833
