Hi

I just found some time to sit down and answer replies I have received in the Genealogy Forums. I got stuck moving around a lot in the last year so I had to put some things on hold in terms of the research I have been doing within my family lines.

I am not sure if he is the same Hemingway you mention as I know nothing about him other than the fact that he bounced back and forth from Cleckheaton and New Britain Connecticut. My grandparents have long since passed so I was never able to ask them more about this name.

I have a whole black box I found in my grandfather's belongings that has all of Alfred Hemingway's receipts and various paperwork. I have a framed award that he received as well. Most of the items I have are dated from the 1870s and 1880s. The name on the outside of the black box is Minnie F. Peck...I don't know what relation that name is to Alfred's name.

Among all the papers I have; I have a dog license that is from Great Britain that expired 31st Dec 1874 and I also
have a payment receipt made to the Manager of the Cleckheaton Cemetery paid by Alfred Hemingway for the grave of someone by the name of Roden(? the script is hard to read but that is the name it looks like) Hemingway. The date on this appears to be Jan 4 1875

If you or anyone on here knows the aboved mentioned names... Roden Hemingway, Minnie F. Peck, please respond. I am really trying to piece this all together!
