I found a deed in the Union Co.courthouse,Lewisburg,PA.,dated
Nov.10,1829,of Andrew Helwig and wife Barbara selling land to
Elijah Tasker in Wayne Co.,Ohio.On the deed it mentions
President James Monroe selling land to Ohio.
Would like to know if this Andrew Helwig,b.abt.1806,is the
father of Henry Helwig,b.Feb.26,1844,Union Co.,PA..Married
Deborah Troup,b.March 14,1846,Union Co.,PA..
I did find a mystery in the family.There`s a Seven month`s
difference in the birth`S of Andrew Helwig`s First Two children - Catherine Helwig,b.Aug.26,1826,and George Helwig,b.
March 16,1827.
I did find in the marriage records of Tuscarawas Co.,Ohio
Andrew Helwig married Catherine Berg,Dec.16,1824,Tuscarawas
Co.,Ohio.I wonder if Andrew Helwig of Ohio had Catherine of
Union Co.Pa,Aug.26,1826 ? Something happened to have Andrew`s
2nd.child to Barbara of Union Co.,PA,March 16,1827!
I`m thinking Catherine Helwig is named after Catherine Berg, and George Helwig is named after George Helwig in
Tuscarawas Co.,Ohio,b.Nov.12,1779,Longswamo Twp.,Berks Co.,PA.,d.April 20,1845,Dover,Tuscarawas Co.,Ohio.
George Helwig`s parents ara Andrew Helwig,b.1756,
Philadelphia Co.,PA.,d.1837,Wayne Co.,Ohio, and Catherine
Bader,b.abt 1845,Berks Co.,PA..
Do`s anybody have any info.that could help ?
