I am looking for the parents of Thomas J Helton. He was born at Marion, Williamson County, Illinois, October 15, 1852 and died Oct. 24, 1932, in Prescott, Nevada County, Arkansas. According to his obituary, "He was engaged in the newspaper and printing business practically all his life. In 1885, he established The Advocate, a weekly paper, in Creal Springs, Ill., in 1890, where he made his home, with exception of the time during the past 15 years which he had divided between Prescott and Cairo. He had been affiliated with the International Typographical Union for about 50 years, being president of the union at Cairo for several years. He had been a member of Marion Lodge, I.O.O.F. for forty years or more. He was married in 1876 to Miss Harriet Ray, who preceeded him in death 41 years ago, leaving three small children, who survive: Erbie Helton of Anna, ILl., Harry F. Helton of Prescott, and Mrs. Charls Orrick, Sr. of Elgin, Ill. In 1894 he was married Mrs. Mary Teagarden. To this union was born one son, Robert Thomas Helton, who resides in Iowa."

Census records for 1860 & 1870 show Thomas living with Robert & Sarah Pulley in Williamson County, IL but it does show the relationship.
