Looking for info on Sylvester Helms b. 183- Ohio/Ky/Ill married Clarissa Ann Irvin/Ervin 14 Feb 1855 Wash.Co..IN Clarissa was d/o Barton and Diadema Morgan Ervin.
Clarissa lived in the area all her life. She was the oldest of 7--She bore 10 sons and 3 daughters. Elsewhere on this site--is a listing of children: William Nelson, William, Joseph S. , George Leonard, John Westley, Catherine Heise, Lucetta, Francis Marion (son), Charles and Millie Belle.
I have Clarissa on the 1850 census at home with parents, 1860,1870,1880, with Sylvester and various children--I have her on the 1900 census with son John, daughter Millie and granddaughter Grace D (not sure whose child she is).
I have a John on the 1910-1920-1930 always single, living as a boarder or hired hand.
I have a Foster in the 1900-Married to Mary J. 1920 as single and 1930 as a widower.
Both of these are in the area Washington Co. and Jackson Co. Indiana but not positive that they are the sons of Clarissa and Sylvester.
I have Francis Marion in the 1900-1910-1920-He married Cora Morris and had 6 children.
Any documentation would be appreciated and if you have any info on this family I would appreciate the help... thanks debbie
