I hope someone out there can make a connection
for me. I'm searching for my Helms/Knight families.
My ggrandparents were George and Mary (Knight)
Helms. They were married in Weakley co., Tn.,
April 15, 1876. I found them again in the 1880
Jacksonville, obion co. , Tn census listed as
Hellisom. George as head of house and Mary his
wife,they have a son Thomas age 2 and Mary's siblings
are living with them. William age 17, Martha A.
age 14 and Annie E. age 6. They have their last
names spelled Night. The census takers spelled
it the way it sounded to them. They also had
another son James Edward (Ed) Helms , born
12-25-1893 Fulton Co., Ky., died 1933 in Hayti,
Missouri. This was my grandfather.He passed
away when my Mother was a child so this is all
I know about his family. Any thing at all would
be greatly appreciated.
