Vernon,
My great grandfather was a Louis HELMKE, a baker, who came from Germany (don't know where in Germany) around 1885. He lived in Houston, Texas, and married there, ca 1890, to Albertina THOM who had come from Settin, a town then in Prussia but now on the River in Poland, just across from Germany. Are you aware of any HELMKE folks in Houston?
