Just a few more records to post for the children of Peter & Mary Helmick of WV. Again, I am just putting the basic information of the records. All are marriage records.
1. Silas Helmick to Lavenia M. Grimes
10 August 1854 Pocahonas County
Husband's Parents- Peter & Mary Helmick
Wife's Parents- Arthur & Elizabeth Grimes
2. Sedeen E. Helmick to James C. Alderman
4 September 1848 Highland County, VA
-Parents are not listed, but I received a copy of a hand written note from Mary Helmick giving her consent to the marriage.
-Also Silas Helmick was listed as one of the persons giving bond ($150.00)
3. Delilah Jane Helmick to Elile Arbogast
16 October 1848 Highland County, VA
-Again, parents not listed, but Mary Helmick's name appeared in a small section of the record.
-Silas Helmick gave a bond ($150.00) to this marriage also.
-I read somewhere that if the father was not there for the wedding, a lot of times a brother would give the bond. That definitely fits Seeden & Delilah's case.
4. Mary A. Helmick to Paul Page
18 March 1869 Upshur County
Husband's parents- Joel & Mary Page
Wife's parents- Peter & Mary Helmick
5. George A. Helmick to Mary E. Brake
29 March 1883 Upshur County
-No parents listed
I have been trying to get death records for Martin J. Helmick, William P. Helmick, Seeden Helmick Alderman, Delilah Jane Helmick Arbogast, Mary Ann Helmick Page, and Mary (Davis) Helmick but have always gotten negative responses. Does anyone have any of these records? And if yes, could you please tell me where you got them. Also, I have been trying to find some records for Peter and Mary Davis Helmick ( Marriage, Land, Death, etc...) but again, negative responses. This was mainly from Pendleton County.
Can anyone help? Keep digging!!!!!!
