I just returned from a Heiserman family reunion in Spearfish, SD, where I got a picture of a George Mervin Heiserman from my uncle, George Jack Heiserman, taken in West Union, Iowa, (photographer’s name and location is stamped on the front of the photo.) I know the Heisermans in my family came from West Union, as my mother (Mary Jane Heiserman Rockwell) has visited the Heiserman Library there. From the notation on the back of the picture written by my grandmother, Maire Helmer Heiserman, it is apparently a picture of a George Mervin Heiserman's father, who my mother says was also named George Mervin. The younger George Mervin Heiserman was married to Eliza Jane Smith and was my great-grandfather, (the father of George J.(initial only no name) Heiserman, who is my grandfather. Does anyone have any information on either George Mervin Heiserman or his father of the same name? I am wondering if Florence might be a cousin of the younger George Mervin? George Mervin’s children were Bess, George (my grandfather), Ruth, Blanche, and May. Serveral of them homesteaded in Montana arriving there in 1909, and eventually wound up in the Spearfish,-Belle Fouche area of the Black Hills, SD.
This is what I know of my line in the family tree.
