Hello Ray,
Claus Heinsohn was Elsebe's father; think I already mentioned that. The family has many Heinrich's, later Henry when they came to USA. Additional data that might be helpful is Elsebe Heinsohn married Claus Schlichting.
They had the following children (born in USA)
Heinrich Schlichting, born 1856
Gesche Schlichting who married John Frederick
June 2, 1879 in Illinois.
John Schlichting who married Meta Gieschen
(Meta also from Germany) John born 1860 in Missouri.
Claus Schlichting, born 1863 in Missouri.
Elsebe's was widowed, and her second marriage was to Peter Wintjen (can be found spelled in many ways).
I know the Schlichting's came from Schleswig-Holstein, Germany (Prussia) and I do believe
the Heinsohn and Schlichting families met after they came to USA, although I cannot say for sure.
Thank you for your continued help in this puzzle of mine.
Sincerely,
Shirley Graham shirgraham@aol.com
