My tree begins with Simon von Heintz (sp) married to Johannah Sophia Katerina Bressler.
Said to have had 7 sons three died young in Germany. Four sons,Simon Jr., Willam, Gustav, and Emil/Ameil came to America with their parents in Sept 1851. They arrived in New Orleans between Christmas and NewYears where they stayed several weeks. They then traveled up the Mississippi and Ohio rivers to Cannelton, Indiana, arriving about March 1st 1852. Another son named Henry was born here on Oct 31st 1853. They later moved to an orchard farm about 10miles from Cannelton. Daniel and Martha were born here. Simon Jr. enlisted in the Union Army July 7th 1861 and was killed at Vicksburg May 16, 1863. Shortly thereafter Willam and Agnes were married and moved to DuQuoin, Ill. Simon and Johanna then moved to St Louis for about a year then moved up the Missouri to a farm 3 miles from Boonville about 1864. On Sept 10, 1870 Gustav, b 09/12/1851 in Magdeburg, Prussia married Bertha Louisa Moehle (b 1851) in Cooper County Mo. Four of the children of Gustav and Bertha were born in Cooper county, Clara Amelia (11/2/1871) Willam Fredrick (my grandfather 3/25/1873) Louis Ernest (11/18/1877) and Herman D.(11/24/1880)
Gustav and Bertha moved to Bogard, north of Carrollton,Mo. where John Authur was born 6/24/1882. They then settled on a farm at Standish, Mo. where Blanch was born 4/23/1887 and Eldon Roy on 3/28/1890.
In 1903 the family moved to 3rd st. in Carrollton, Mo. Gustav A. Heins died 1/27/1928 and Bertha died 10/1/1929. Both are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery at Carrollton, Mo. Carla Amelia Heins married Frank Furry on 12/28/1892; Willam Fredrick Heins married Caroline Stempel 3/18/1896; Louis Ernest Heins married Elizabeth Lahman on 9/10/1901; Herman D. Heins married Mary E. Welborn 11/27/1901; John Arthur Heins married Artie Berry 9/2/1903; Blanch Heins never married.; Eldon Roy Heins married Mary Elizabeth Swiggert 11/11/1914
