Would any of you have the same pic of this Johann Heinrich Heins. He has a worn Military uniform. Firt button undone. A striped ribboned round medal. His wife wears a bonnet with light colored lace at the edges tied with a big bow at her neck. Heinrich Heins is the son and his is light haired also and his wife has a top knot for a hairdo and not as simply designed dress as the mother - in- law.Though it is not elaborate.
If you have this same picture then you are related.
The daughter of Johann Heinrich would be Maria Dorothea Heins [ born 1850's] who married Juergen Heinrich Meyer of Iowa. Her family had some missionaries. Heinrich's residence is listed in the Meyer book as being in germany. In Iowa they settled first at Lohrville and then four years later to Farnhamville and churdan area.
The family came from Munster. Mueden Oertze and Traun and Fassberg. In another record she says she is from Kreutzen. which enlarged is an area at Munster near Traun. Originally the family came from an area of Bergen church district Kries celle. It is slightly east of Hermansburg and may stretch up to soltau.
For some reason the family has the name recorded in the book as Heinz. Though on her church records it says Heins.
The Meyer family came from Bleckede area and Dahlenburg area of Niedersachen. Or Hannover at that time. Location Oldendorf and Nahrendorf, Eichdorf, Boitze,Roethen.
On church records some are from Sueschedorf and some from Breese.
any info helpful.
