The only source I've found to date which states James Heinlein's father, George is the book:
Davis, W. W. H.. "History of Bucks County, Pennsylvania : from the discovery of the Delaware to the present time." New YorkChicago: Lewis Pub. Co., 1905.
Information on the Heinleins spans pages 308 - 313.The book is available online from Google Books for free and is fully text searchable online or you can download the PDF.There are transcriptions also on many websites as well, as the text is old enough to be considered public domain. The book indicates James' father is George Heinlein, Captian of the Durham Militia in the Revolutionary war.
I myself am a descendant of James - thru his son George B Hineline.I am willing to share my research and sources as well as interested in learning more.
