Hello:
My name is John A. Carpenter. My brother who died in Vietnam is Ralph R. Carpenter, Jr. Our father, Ralph R. Carpenter, was born in 1900 in Alexandria, Indiana to John W. Carpenter and Laura Randolph Carpenter. John W.'s father was William F., who emigrated from England after going to South America. He evidently came to America through Pennsylvania as he married into a Pennsylvania Dutch family named Heimlich. They pressed on to Indiana for farm land and settled there. My paternal grandmother, Laura Randolph, was the daughter of Samuel Lincoln Randolph and Elizabeth Quick, whose father was an Aaron Quick. That's about all I have. If you have anymore let me know. Thanks for your interest.
Jack Carpenter
