Heidemann family from Mehnen, (Niedermehnen), Levern parish, Stemwede, Germany
My great-grandfather Friedrich Ludwig Wilhelm Heidemann, born 24 August 1872, in Mehnen by No 45, now called Niedermehnen, a village associated with the Levern church, in the Stemwede area of Westfalia, Germany, immigrated to Washington County, Texas in the 1880s.I have done a good bit of research and have been fortunate to have been given a great deal of research on the Heidemann family of the Levern church by Pastor Horst of the Levern church. This research goes back to Johann Joachim Heidemann, who died in 1717 and built the still preserved old pastor's house that was built in 1714.
I am willing to assist others who have an interest in this family if you will just contact me.
I am also looking to see if anyone is a descendant of one of the other 7 siblings that he had.Two others came to Washington county and are part of our extended Heidemann family and reunion we have in Brenham., Texas. There is a family rumor of another sibling immigrating to the Midwest.I know the names of the other siblings, just not who emigrated.
