It was good to hear from you! Unfortunately, that still leaves a Walter W. who shows in the Texas probate birth index as being born in 1911. Unfortunately, without looking at the birth report you can't tell where or who the parents were! Mabel Adeline Hegwer is my adopted grandmother. She married Campbell (Cam) B. Cramer in Missouri but had her delayed birth registered in Hidalgo county where she applied for SS.
There are a number of other Hegwers doing research out there. When I got the Hegwer Bible from Dixie Sharp I had it photographed and sent the Bible itself to Raymonda Sarcoxie Allen as her Hegwer aunt lives near her in Oklahoma. You can see her posting in genforum under the Sarcoxie surname. She is the grand-daughter of Roy Lee Sarcoxie and Geneva Olive Hegwer and ggdaughter of Edward Henry Hegwer and Winnie Lee Osburn. Her email address is
My grandmother was the daughter of August Julius Hegwer and Mary Elizabeth Bowers. Her baby sister, Louis Tatum, did some research on the Hegwers and I have a copy my cousin Tom Tatum sent me, but it is NOTHING like what you seem to have. He is glad to have it, but not really interested in family history. Uncle Julius (Julius Bowers Hegwer) has a son, Sig, living in Arlington, but I have not seen him since I was a child. For that matter, I haven't seen Reymonda for a long time either, but we correspond sporadically (me.)
I found my birth mother's family two years ago, and have been mostly working on that line, but please keep in touch. I live in Bryan, Texas. Please do contact, or have your niece contact, Raymonda...she will be delighted and so will her aunt!
